Rising pedestrian fatalities in Cypress area

A woman was killed crossing SH 249 (third pedestrian death on that highway in 2026) and a new hit-and-run in Cypress Hills killed a 29-year-old woman on a two-wheeled vehicle. Both incidents highlight ongoing safety concerns for vulnerable road users. No suspects in the hit-and-run.
