What new community grants has Bòrd na Gàidhlig introduced?
Bòrd na Gàidhlig has launched Taic Freumhan Coimhearsnachd grants with a £100k annual budget, aligned with its existing community fund. It has also allocated £60k for local Gaelic plans in Iar-Thuath Leòdhais and Uibhist, plus Seachdain na Gàidhlig Small Grants up to £500 for individuals and groups.
What funding is available for Gaelic Early Years education?
Bòrd na Gàidhlig has opened its Early Years Education Fund to support sustained Gaelic provision and progression into GME. Additional Maoinean urrais bursaries and awards are available for learners, teachers, and community groups.
What Gaelic research is HIE conducting and how can people participate?
HIE is running a Gaelic research project to inform policy and data needs, with participation urgently needed before the deadline in under a week. Bòrd has also posted an apprentice vacancy and is running its annual Gaelic use survey.
Bòrd programmes continue to support grassroots transmission through Taic Freumhan Coimhearsnachd, early-years funding, Seachdain na Gàidhlig grants, Maoinean urrais and £60,000 for two community plans.
