Yankees Offense and Execution Fail Again

New York hit .130 and scored five runs in the ALDS, keeping situational hitting and roster construction under scrutiny. Wells hit .186/.292/.332 with 14 homers in 122 games; McMahon’s .213/.279/.357 line and $16 million salary add to the third-base debate. A proposal for St. Louis to absorb $5 million of McMahon’s salary is hypothetical, with no reported negotiations.
