Amazon Replaces Fire Tablets With Alexa Lineup Starting at $179.99

Amazon is replacing Fire tablets with Alexa-branded models, restoring Google Play access and emphasizing Alexa+ features. The $499.99 12 Pro is the standout with a 2.8K 120Hz anti-glare Nanomatte display, Kindle features, keyboard/stylus support, and October 19 shipping, but performance, battery life, software support, privacy, and long-term value remain untested.
