Kings set opening-night roster amid unresolved guard depth

Sacramento announced an 18-player opening-night roster after waiving Viktor Lakhin, Tristen Newton and Elfrid Payton; it also waived Adam Flagler, with no replacement confirmed. Payton’s departure leaves the guard-depth question open after Simmons’s injury, while reported names such as Walter Clayton Jr. and Kevin Porter Jr. remain unconfirmed possibilities.
