Trade Speculation Raises Questions About Prospect Opportunities

Reports continue to speculate that Pittsburgh could move veterans to create room for younger players, naming Rakell, Girard, Rust, Lizotte, Karlsson, and Kuzmenko as possibilities; no active negotiations or deals are confirmed. A report links Rakell to a past, unsuccessful Columbus trade concept and notes his slow start (two assists, no goals in seven games) and eight-team no-trade list. Owen Pickering has also been floated as a possible trade candidate.
