Early-Season Tests: Defense, Turnovers and Rotation

Boston beat Chicago 125–111 on Oct. 30 to open NBA Cup group play, improving to 4–1; Pritchard scored 30 and Tatum added 26. White reached 500 career steals and 500 blocks. Boston forced at least 16 turnovers in each of its first five games, an encouraging but small-sample defensive signal; Walsh says he is ready to guard top players without help, but no role change is confirmed. White’s early three-point struggles and Brooklyn’s 52 paint points remain watch items.
