ByteDance and MPA Sign First AI Copyright MOU, Shifting from Confrontation to Cooperation

After the MPA's first-ever AI cease-and-desist to ByteDance's Seedance 2.0 in February, the two parties have now signed a non-binding copyright MOU, setting a template for AI-Hollywood negotiations. Seedance 2.5 is launching despite earlier legal threats. Bootleg 'The Office' videos still highlight IP challenges, but the MOU signals a new cooperative phase. The earlier cease-and-desist narrative is now superseded.
