FIU opens C-USA play with 22-3 defensive win over New Mexico State

FIU defeated New Mexico State 22-3 on October 7 to begin Conference USA play 1-0 and improve to 3-2 overall. Three takeaways, DeeJay Holmes’ five-game sack streak and sustained defensive pressure highlighted the win, while Robert Czeremcha’s record-tying five field goals offset limited offensive production. Czeremcha was named C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week.
