Kinston council approves downtown service-provider selection process

At its Nov. 2 meeting, council approved a process to select a downtown service provider, including a survey, public meeting and proposal deadline, with a decision expected in January. Council also approved retiring police dog Nero to his former handler and sewer service for four planned short-term rentals; the service-provider process is not a contract award.
