Loaded handgun found with second grader at Georgia elementary school
8-Year-Old Brings Gun to School
An 8-year-old second-grade student brought a handgun to Myers Elementary School in Hall County, Georgia. Authorities say the gun had a loaded magazine but no round in the chamber, and there is currently no indication the child intended to harm anyone. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating how the student obtained the weapon and brought it onto campus. The incident raises renewed concerns over firearm access in homes and school safety procedures for detecting weapons.
