Indianapolis Budget, Road Taxes and Schools Referendum

The proposed 2027 city budget is about $1.9 billion, including roughly $400 million for IMPD and $100 million for roads. Vehicle-tax increases beginning in 2027 are expected to raise about $70 million annually, while the $95 million IPS tax referendum heads to the November ballot; Joshua Masquelier has now been selected to fill the vacant District 21 council seat.
