Iowa State looks to repair early defensive issues

After an 80–76 opener loss to Memphis, Iowa State responded with an 83–57 home-opening win over Southern Miss, led by Tre Singleton’s 28 points and nine rebounds and Taj Manning’s four blocks. The offense found a spark, but Otzelberger still considers defense and rebounding unfinished work; early perimeter and drive-defense breakdowns remain worth tracking.
