Record High Tides and Sneaker-Wave Hazards Affect Bay Area Waterfronts

San Francisco recorded an unusually high October tide that pushed water inland and disrupted access around Ocean Beach, Crissy Field, and Mill Valley. Coastal warnings also cited flooding, sneaker waves, rip currents, and waves up to roughly 16 feet, making tide, surf, weather, and road checks essential for beach and waterfront visits.
