Shootings and serious assaults heighten concern in Auburn area

Multiple violent incidents in and around Auburn, Alabama are under investigation, including a Monday shooting at a north Auburn apartment complex on Shelton Mill Road that left one person hospitalized in stable condition while the suspect fled and remains at large. Auburn Police have also issued felony warrants and are actively searching for a man accused of attempted murder. In a separate case, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Opelika man on rape and domestic violence charges following an investigation. The cluster of serious offenses has intensified local safety concerns and prompted a strong law enforcement response.
