MLB Proposes 154-Game Season and Postseason Changes

MLB has proposed reducing the regular season from 162 to 154 games, reseeding the postseason, allowing higher seeds to select opponents, and using best-of-seven Division Series. The proposal could materially change scheduling and October, but it is not adopted; labor talks, including salary-cap issues and the MLBPA response, remain unresolved.
