Timberwolves confront rebounding and frontcourt depth problems

Preseason losses exposed interior defense, rebounding and the challenge of handling physical opponents, including Detroit’s 64-30 paint advantage. Gobert remains the only established center; Lyles is earning trust, while Beringer and Zikarsky are unproven. The Lakers reportedly checked in on Naz Reid but made no serious offer before Minnesota used him in the Ball trade; Gobert-trade speculation remains unsubstantiated.
