Citywide push to modernize transit, parks, and neighborhoods
Waco Reimagines Streets and Spaces
Waco is rolling out a wave of planning and infrastructure projects, from closing its current landfill for a new transfer station to expanding flexible Micro Dash transit and pursuing a downtown railroad quiet zone. The city is reshaping public space with its first street “parklet,” a burst of new parks, and major redevelopment such as the Baron’s Branch District and a new mixed-use complex. Public input is being actively sought on housing funds and long-range transportation plans, signaling a coordinated effort to align growth, livability, and resident priorities.
