Ukraine races to counter Russia’s faster Shahed/Geran drones

Russia’s jet-powered drones reportedly reduced Ukrainian interception rates from above 90% to just over 60% as attack volumes and production increased. Ukraine is expanding long-range and interceptor-drone programs, experimenting with mesh networking and AI-enabled systems, and has reported an initial interceptor success, but the response’s scalability remains uncertain.
