Papua LNG Nears FID as ExxonMobil Takes Operatorship

Papua LNG is moving toward a targeted year-end FID after ExxonMobil took operatorship and identified nearly $4 billion in cost savings. The 5.6 mtpa project could strengthen medium-term Asian supply diversification, but approvals, financing, final ownership and execution timing remain outstanding.
