LNG Supply Crisis Worsens After Attack on Ras Laffan

QatarEnergy’s force majeure, reportedly extending through October, and blocked Gulf LNG traffic continue to pressure Europe and Asia. Only three August ship-to-ship LNG transfers were reported versus roughly 90–100 normal monthly cargoes; TTF exceeded €70/MWh, Asian spot LNG is around $22.50/MMBtu, and European storage is approximately 63–66%. Six empty tankers moving toward Qatar may indicate restart preparations, but export normalization is unconfirmed.
