Oregon rallied from a 17-7 deficit to defeat Boise State on Sept. 5. Dante Moore threw for 378 yards and three touchdowns, while his 62-yard connection with Dakorien Moore proved decisive, but 10 penalties, turnovers, defensive lapses and a weak rushing attack made the win far less convincing than the ranking suggested. Lanning described the performance as a wake-up call.
