Sora Shutdown Claims Meet Reported Filmmaking-Tool Negotiations

A brief FAQ claims Sora web and app access ended April 26, 2026, and its API was scheduled to stop September 24, 2026; it offers too little sourcing to resolve the claims, and the stated API date has passed. A recent opinion post repeats the API claim without verification. Reported negotiations involving former Sora research lead Bill Peebles’s startup remain unconfirmed; Sam Altman’s comments frame Sora as a product and social-adaptation experiment but provide no new operational confirmation.
