Regional push to upgrade roads, utilities, and community spaces
Northwest Arkansas on the Move
Northwest Arkansas is advancing a slate of transportation and infrastructure projects, from short-term street closures in Bentonville and Bella Vista to major highway upgrades on U.S. 412, I-49, and Highway 112 backed by a $92 million federal grant. Local governments are also investing in utilities and civic assets, including a new water agreement in Bentonville, a Highfill lift-station project, and the Rogers civic campus. Regional planners are seeking public input on improvements to the Razorback Greenway, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers aims to streamline regulations for planned Arkansas projects. Together with over $79 million in Bentonville park developments, these efforts signal coordinated growth, better connectivity, and expanded public amenities across the region.
