Steubenville advances Wellesley Avenue and recreation-center roof projects

Council approved an ordinance for a roughly $650,000 Wellesley Avenue project covering about 600 feet of waterline replacement and full roadway reconstruction; design is underway, with construction hoped for around June 2027 and a likely full closure. The MLK recreation-center roof estimate is now about $235,000, with $25,000 secured, an approximately $115,000 ODNR grant being pursued, and $34,000 for engineering studies; most funding remains unconfirmed.
