A Sept. 29 Gulf Breeze chase and a separate emergency-scene crash hospitalized five Santa Rosa County deputies within 24 hours; one deputy was allegedly dragged or rammed by a fleeing U-Haul, and a 13-year-old was also injured. The suspect is in custody and deputies were reportedly stable, but the investigation, possible Highway 98 effects, witness and missing-juvenile reports, and the Wedgewood camera proposal remain worth monitoring.
