BERT Multi-Use Trail Referendum

Voters will decide on a $35 million bond on Aug. 18 to fund the 11.4-mile BERT trail. New appraisal values the rail corridor at $75M; independent review confirms fair price. Cost per average resident is $4.75/month (lower than earlier $57/year). Ballot language included. Councilman Corey is promoting the trail as transportation, tourism, and quality of life. Trust for Public Land filed NITU on July 1. Early voting opens Aug 8.
