CMP Proposed Rate Increase and Grid-Upgrade Costs

CMP is seeking approval for grid-upgrade spending and a higher return on equity that could increase customer bills by as much as $216 annually. Disputed costs and political and environmental complications surround a major northern Maine power project; the PUC decision is not expected until spring, and any approved Brunswick bill changes would begin no earlier than May 2027.
