A randomized at-home EEG-BCI stroke trial reported a 4.5-point treatment advantage and 55.5% responder rate, but attrition, durability, adherence, active controls, and reimbursement remain unresolved. VR-evoked motor-imagery ERD, a disorder-of-consciousness microstate biomarker, and broader EEG disease-monitoring work add clinical momentum without yet demonstrating improved recovery or externally validated diagnosis.
