Crown Center Ballpark Advances After Council Approval

The Kansas City City Council approved rezoning, TIF measures, and roughly $537 million in bond authorization on Oct. 8, materially advancing the proposed Crown Center ballpark. Reports point to a possible first-quarter 2027 groundbreaking and 2030 opening, but state support, litigation, debt service, taxpayer exposure, financing assumptions, and a possible April 2027 ballot initiative remain unresolved.
