Pinellas Budget, Beach Access and Nonprofit Funding Pressure
A Pinellas commissioner is proposing to eliminate nonprofit grants after funding recommendations fell from $1.7 million to $667,000, potentially affecting senior, literacy and other community services. Separately, a beach-parking proposal could raise the cost of an eight-hour visit from $6 to as much as $28 while generating about $2.8 million annually; both decisions remain unresolved.
