xAI's Platform Push and Privacy Concerns

xAI launches Grok Build developer platform to compete with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Grok Build 1.0 closing beta (24k stars) and reliability-focused release with open-source harness. However, a serious security flaw emerged: CLI silently uploaded entire repos to Google Cloud, forcing xAI to open source – adding to xAI's privacy woes (Grok chats in search). Grok 4.6 with SpaceX data is expected next week. In a major move, SpaceX reportedly nears a $60B all-stock acquisition of Cursor, the leading AI coding startup, which will be absorbed into the Grok ecosystem – reshaping the AI coding assistant landscape and validating the agent infrastructure thesis.
