The CDC closed the Nara Organics investigation after four hospitalizations, but sequencing confirmed a connection to the ByHeart outbreak through a shared organic milk supplier and dryer. Thirteen cases were reported overall; FDA testing cited in recent reporting did not detect the outbreak pathogen in tested samples, and the contamination point remains unidentified.
