Public safety incidents: hate crimes, home invasions, elder abuse assault
A wave of violent incidents is alarming Palo Alto residents. Hate crimes continue: racist graffiti and swastikas at parks, and a new robbery at Baylands with racial slurs (victim treated, suspects at large). Home invasions: two Barron Park intrusions (one suspect arrested), and a home invasion arrest earlier. New: a parking lot assault of a senior is being investigated as elder abuse (suspect at large, vague description). These incidents underscore growing safety concerns beyond the high-profile Kyle Shanahan crash (cooling). Police are investigating, but many cases have no leads.
