San Francisco El Niño Emergency Preparation

San Francisco declared a local emergency to prepare for a potentially historic El Niño and urged residents to use AlertSF, check flood insurance, and protect belongings; the outlook is not a certainty. Separately, an October 24–29 coastal-flood advisory warns of minor, localized shoreline flooding, potentially up to 1.9 feet, plus possible road closures and erosion. Verify the advisory is still active before sharing and keep the two forecasts distinct.
