Forest Service Considers $10 Tahoe Recreation Fees

The Forest Service is proposing or evaluating $10-per-day fees affecting Kiva Beach, Big Meadow Trailhead, Luther Campground, and potentially other Tahoe beaches, campgrounds, and trailheads. Public comments are due Sept. 29, with a possible decision in spring 2027; residents need clarity on exemptions, access, and how revenue will be spent.
