OpenAI’s Pierre deal could extend coding agents into Git workflows

OpenAI reportedly agreed to acquire Pierre Computer, whose Git libraries are already used in Codex, to deepen code-storage and team Git workflows for coding agents. The deal is pending and terms are undisclosed; open-source continuity and customer-access commitments, integration plans, and competitive effects remain to be tested.
