Washington’s secondary has made takeaways a defensive strength

Washington has 12 interceptions through eight games, tied for fifth nationally, including three against Nebraska. Alex McLaughlin earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after recording nine tackles and a game-sealing pick-six; he has 57 tackles on the season and three interceptions, second in the conference. The interception pace is notable, but its continuation is uncertain.
