2027 Apple Cup scheduled for Aug. 28 season opener

Washington will open 2027 at Washington State on Aug. 28, then host Fresno State and Portland State; the 2028 Apple Cup date remains unknown. The NCAA’s uniform 14-week season format makes the earlier opener possible and creates an early bye before conference play.
